Interpreted theatre is artistic collaboration.
Since 2007, Hands UP Productions has brought high-quality ASL interpreting to performing arts and cultural events across the Philadelphia region. We work at the intersection of theatre, ASL artistry, interpreter training, and community engagement — and we bring that depth of experience to every production.
Artistic collaboration
We prepare with your production the way your cast does — script work, rehearsal, and coaching — so the interpreted performance carries the story, not just the words.
Interpreter education
Through workshops and mentorship, we train the next generation of performing arts interpreters — because craft this demanding deserves real preparation.
Community-centered access
The Deaf audience experience is always at the center. We partner with theatres and the community to make cultural experiences genuinely welcoming — never a checkbox.
